Ridge (5-4), No. 14 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, broke away from a 2-2 tie in the second half to snap a two-game losing streak in Flemington. T.J. Kelly scored three goals and Sean Miller and Terrence Scott added two each for Ridge. Teammate Jonathan Wilkins halted 13 shots. Jeff Crosby had two goals and Tim Roy collected one goal and one assist for No. 20 Hunterdon Central (5-4).

In a Somerset County and Skyland Conference match up, Montgomery downed Ridge 6-8 on Lee Field in Basking Ridge.

Ridge upsets Moorestown in Top 20 battle

Freshman attackman Conor Meth scored off a feed by Alex Otero at 1:15 of the first overtime to snap a 6-6 tie for Ridge, No. 11 The Star-Ledger Top 20, in Moorestown. That ended a five-game winning streak for No. 4 Moorestown (5-1).

Sophomore middie Anthony Milito helped create the scoring opportunity for Meth by forcing a turnover on Ridge's ride. Meth and Otero each finished with two goals and Otero, a junior midddie, also won nine-of-10 faceoffs for Ridge (4-2). Eric DeStefano and Brian Lapres scored two goals apiece for Moorestown.

Ridge Beats Hillsborough 8-4

Junior Alex Otero scored 5 of Ridge's 8, while Jamie Scott had 2 goals and Sean Miller had 1. The real story was Ridge's defense lead by senior Nick Brown. Alex Bliss, Ricky Roman and LSM Brandon Pallidino contribued to Ridge's solid defensive play, while junior Goalie Jonathan Wilkins came up with some big saves throughout the afternoon. Ridge plays again on Saturday in Mendham.

Ridge Wins Season Opener 18-6 for Coach Marsh's 100th Career Win

Lead by captain Steve Rijo who had one goal and six assists on the evening, Ridge beat Westfield 16-8 for it's first win of the season and Coach Marsh's 100th career win on Friday evening at Lee Field in Basking Ridge. Ridge had 10 other people contributing goals and assists in the win including Sean Miller, TJ Kelly, Brian Long, Kevin Kelly, Jamie Scott, Alex Otero, Alex Byrnes, Brandon Paladino, Chris Romano and Nick Brown. Ridge's defense was lead by junior goalie Jonathan Wilkins who had 10 saves and senior defensmen: Nick Brown, Brandon Palladino, Ricky Roman and Alex Bliss. Alex Otero, Jason Mertz and Nick Brown controlled the face-off's througout the game wining 18 of 27. Ridge plays again at Ridgewood on Monday afternoon.
